Apple will no longer release the new generation iPhone SE

It seems that the most expensive company in the world, the American Apple, is no longer going to release a new generation budget smartphone, iPhone SE, - the authoritative analyst ofApple, Ming-Chi Kuo, writes about this. According to the analyst, who makes his assumptions based on sources in Apple's contractor companies, the American giant decided to produce a budget smartphone due to unfavorable demand. In addition, due to disruptions in global supply chains, Apple's smartphones are becoming more expensive and, of course, this will also affect the budget model produced by the company, which, in case of price increase, will lose its charm and competitiveness.

It should be noted that if Ming-Chi Kuo's prediction comes true, which is quite likely, this decision by Apple cannot be called unexpected. The fact is that Ming-Chi Kuo and Nikkei Asia wrote about the 20% reduction in production of budget smartphones by the American company back in March of last year, that is, a few weeks after the release of the smartphone. At the same time, we must also remember that Apple has stopped the production of specific models so far, so by removing the iPhone SE from production, a negative precedent will not be created.

It should be said here that one company especially benefits from Apple's withdrawal from the production of budget smartphones - it is the American Qualcomm, which creates 5G-modems for modern iPhones. The fact is that in recent years,Apple itself has started to produce these modems, and the latest generation iPhone SE was supposed to be the smartphone in which this device was tested for the first time. According to Ming-Chi Kuo, modems manufactured by Apple are less efficient than Qualcomm devices, so it is expected that the 2024 iPhone 16 will be equipped with a modem manufactured by Qualcomm. This fact is supported by Qualcomm's forecast - according to the company's estimation, the American Apple will remain its main source of income until 2025.
