Adobe starts selling images created by artificial intelligence

Adobe is starting to sell images created by artificial intelligence (AI) on its platform.

Adobe Stock is one of the world's most sought-after platforms for legally purchasing copyrighted stock photos. This service is especially often used by media platforms and publications.

Now, on the Adobe platform, artists will be able to post not only their own works, but also AI-generated materials, be it images or compositions created by Midjourney or DALL-E.

AI has appeared in the field of art for several years, and the images created by artificial intelligence are not inferior to the creations of real artists from a technical or artistic point of view, this is also demonstrated by the fact that several samples created by AI managed to win international competitions.

According to some experts, Adobe's decision is unfair, because it will help drive real creativity, photographers, graphic designers and artists out of the market, which is due to the fact that AI can generate thousands of samples at the same time and adapt to the requirements, which is simply impossible for a real person.

Unlike Adobe, Getty Images refrains from allowing AI on its platform. According to the company's director, AI carries the risks of violating intellectual property rights and violating the principles of the art market.

Founded in 1982, Adobe is one of the world's largest technology companies, with a market capitalization of $154 billion, and controls a significant portion of the global visual arts market through Photoshop, Premier, After Effects, and Illustrator.
